Robonaut 2 – Brought to life aboard the International Space Station
This 300lb robot is set atop a pedestal aboard the International Space Station and is currently in charge of repetitive tasks such as button pressing, lever pulling and yes – tweeting to its more than 40,000 followers. However that all changes when in several months Nasa will deliver its leg attachments and Robonaut can then be sent outside the station to handle more difficult and dangerous tasks. This is a new frontier in the area of robotic engineering and with all the research being done through organizations such as Nasa and Honda with its very own "Asimo," we're sure to see some major advancements in this area in the coming years.
