Asteroid 2005 YU55

Asteroid 2005 YU55 will make it's closest approach to Earth this Tuesday coming no closer than 201,700 miles from our home planet. The asteroid will fly in between the Earth and the moon travelling from the direction of the sun. Scientists say they are extremely confident (100% confident) that it will not strike the Earth, but will however, provide a great opportunity to collect information on the asteroid. The next time it makes its way this close again will be in 2028.
